Hide the treat
Ask mum for some cheap plastic cups and place 6 upside down on the floor about 1 metre apart. Hide a nice treat beneath two of the cups whilst your dog is in another room. Then call your dog in and go over to one of the cups with a treat underneath and pick it up so your dog can pick up the treat. Then allow your dog to hunt for others beneath the cups and repeat the word “Go Find”. When your dog finds one tell him what a good boy he is. You must make sure your dog is not going to eat the cups but if they get crunched up a bit it doesn’t really matter.
Once your dog learns the instruction for “go find” you can hide treats all over the place. You may want to name each place such as tree, or log, or cup or pot etc. Repeat the name of the place as your dog investigates that area. Your dog will soon learn all the names of the places he is to look in.
